A Case of Epidermoid Cyst of Facial Nerve Trunk

Abstract

|
The epidermoid cyst is a keratinizing cyst, the wall of which is stratified -epithelium containing keratohylin granules. The contents of cyst are cheesy fatty material and epithelial debris. Epidermoid cysts are mainly observed on the face, neck and trunk. Another sites are central nervous system, spleen, testis and ovary. But trunk of facial nerve is a very uncommon site in epidermoid cyst. Authors experienced a case of epidermoid cyst of trunk of facial nerve in a 29 years old female recently.
